Riverpaw leaped and twisted at the rouge, but another had swiped her from the air, slaming her against the ground. He held her while Thorn padded to her side and he unsheathed his claws. Raising his paw, he was ready to kill her. Tallfur darted from the Medicine Cat Den and raked the muscular rouge with his claws. The rouge howled and Riverpaw lept up as his grip weakened. Tallfur battled the rouge while Riverpaw avoided the claws of Thorn. She rolled to her back and kicked out with her hind paws. Thorn was sent flying and flew into the wall. Riverpaw turned to see Tallfur trapped under the rouge, before she could move, Wildblaze screeched and flew onto the back of the rouge. Tallfur managed to get up and watch. Wildblaze bit down so hard it sent the rouge into the bushes. She then helped Tallfur. Turning back to Thorn, Riverpaw dashed forward and gave him a gash down his side. "Retreat!" he called to the other rouges. Before disappearing into the forest he whispered so that only Riverpaw could hear "I will kill your family, your father is the first, then your mother and your two remaining older siblings, and anyone who seems close to you." His foul breath made her cringe. He raced into the forest and she watched where he had gone even after he was out of sight.
"Riverpaw, you were amazing!" Flamepaw mewed. He stood beside her and she smiled at him. They walked together, pelts brushing, to the fresh kill pile and waited for the Medicine Cats and to see how Icefang was. They, however, didn't notice a pair of glimmering eyes looking down at them from the depths of the forest...
