The silvery she-cat stood and mewed "I am Sera and Evangaline was my sister, along with..." She paused and then spat out "Rena!" Flamefall bounded to her and said with wonder and happiness "Your my kin!" She nodded. "I bring more bad news to you though" she told him grimly. Flamefall's smile faded and he mewed "What?" his voice shaking. "Evangaline was killed by Scar shortly after you were left alone with Hawk..." she said with great pain and grief. Riverfrost came and put her tail on his shoulder. They sat down with Riverfrost trying to comfort him. Growling Sera snarled "And then Rena became Thorn's new mate!" Flamefall's greif-stricken eyes also then burned with anger. Dawnstar gave a signal and they started back to the camp. When they got there most cats retired to their dens while Sera and Flamefall sat and talked. Riverfrost went to Swiftwing's den to check on Icefang, who's wounds were not healing. Swiftwing looked grimly at Icefang, so laden with herbs his pelt looked a different color. His breathing was shallow. "Riverfrost...he has still been losing blood, we thought his wounds would heal, but even a little blood lost for a long time can kill." Swiftwing mewed solemnly. Riverfrost stared at Icefang. "I don't think he will last the night,...you may wake him as it may be the last...last time you see him" Swiftwing mewed, her hope failing her. Riverfrost nudged Icefang with her paw, and he turned weakly to her, smiling the best he could. She sat beside him as they shared their last whispers, Whiteshadow coming in as well. The broken family was about to be torn even more.
The next morning they took Icefang's body and buried him. Riverfrost stared blankly. "Thorn...he's still out there. He killed my father, Flamefall's mother, and almost killed Flamefall." she thought angrily. "She would find him now" she told herself. As she walked toward the entrance, Flamefall asked her where she was going. "Hunting...on my own this time, I need time to think" she lied. He nodded and watched her go. Before she disappeared he mewed "I need to say good-bye to Sera, she's leaving!" She flicked her tail in acknowledgement. Riverfrost followed a small stream, until she caught a scent of blood. She followed the trail to a small clearing and saw the body of a rouge. Narrowing her eyes she pinpointed Thorn by his thoughts and as he lept to attack, she cut him off and pinned him down. Being larger in size, he rolled away easily. This time she clasped her claws together and waited for his leap. When he was just a tail-length away, she turned and swiftly thrust her claws into his throat. Blood flowed from his neck and he gave a hoarse laugh. "Little cat, I will haunt you as forever, and he will wait for you..." He then gave a final heave and fell, taking his last breath. The prophecy was over, and she had won.
